outer city wall, and then a sec-
ond wall, Titus reached the
wall of the Antonia Fortress
protecting the Temple. This
wall was breached at the be-
ginning of the summer month of
Av, leaving only one more pro-
tecting wall, that of the Temple
itself, which was finally set
afire on the ninth of the month.
